I’m Marion Roussel, and I work as a Growth Marketer in Liana’s Growth & Marketing Team. My story starts back in 2019 when I was an Erasmus student in Oulu for my first year of Master's. During one of my business classes, some members of Liana's marketing team came to give a specific lecture about marketing. I was looking for an internship, and Liana was looking for a French-speaking intern, so I applied since I really liked Oulu as a place to live, and I was really interested in seeing what working in Finland could be like. I got an invitation for an interview a few days later and started my internship soon afterward.

After this first internship, I came back half a year later, to do a second internship (in order to finalize my degree and graduate), which led to a permanent position. But I didn't stop there! After a year of working full-time in the marketing team, I decided to study again and started a Bachelor of Information Technology at the University of Applied Sciences of Oulu. I was very lucky as it was smooth and easy for me to work part-time and study at the same time. The weeks were quite busy and I had a rather tight schedule, but Liana was very flexible. I even did an internship in our Mailer team as a front-end developer last summer!

As a marketer, I work for our French market: I usually create campaigns for our products in French, do some technical translations, and translate or write content in French or English for our blog (articles or guides). I am also in charge of creating our monthly newsletter, which is then translated into different languages and sent to our different markets.

My days are rather similar, there is always a campaign to think of, some new visuals to create, and some newsletter to design. Even if these sound like a few tasks, they actually require a lot of thinking and creativity, which I like in my job!

Liana people are one of the best things here. Everyone is open, and kind and it's always so nice to come around to the office and spend time with my teammates. There is this nice atmosphere which makes it easy to feel welcomed and appreciated. I don’t necessarily have one specific memorable moment in mind, but in a more general sense, Liana is what made me stay in Oulu! I was supposed to be here for 5 months as an exchange student, and I ended up never leaving. After 4 years, I don't regret my decision one bit!
